Who we are
ToolChameleon operates this site. Contact: toolchameleon@gmail.com. Postal address: 41 Littlewood Way, Rotherham, S66 7BG.
Static QR codes
Static QR codes are generated entirely in your browser. The content you enter (links, Wi-Fi passwords, contact details) is not sent to or stored on our servers.
Data we currently collect
- Standard server logs from our hosting provider (such as IP address and browser type), kept for security and reliability.
- Messages you send us by email.
Cookies and your choices
When you first visit, we ask whether you allow analytics and advertising cookies. Both are off unless you opt in, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. Your choice is saved in your browser (local storage) so we don't have to ask every time.
- Essential storage (always on): needed to keep you signed in, keep the site secure and remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies (only if you opt in): anonymous counts of which tools are used, to help us improve them. We never use them to record the content of your files or text, and no analytics cookies are set unless you allow them.
- Advertising cookies (only if you opt in): adverts from Google AdSense keep the tools free. Advert code and its cookies load only after you allow advertising; if you decline, no advertising cookies are set.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser storage, which makes the prompt appear again on your next visit. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
How Google uses advertising data
If you allow advertising, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve adverts based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners serve adverts to you based on those visits.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Read how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.
Accounts and dynamic codes (future)
When accounts and dynamic QR codes launch, we will describe here exactly what is stored, how long it is kept, and how to delete it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data, and you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
