FAQs
Which setting should I use?
Try Lossless first. For scanned or photo-heavy PDFs, Strong (150 dpi) usually gives big savings and stays readable.
Why can't I select text after strong compression?
Strong and Smallest turn each page into an image to save space, so the text layer is lost. Use Lossless to keep it.
What if the file doesn't get smaller?
Some PDFs are already optimised. We tell you when that happens and give you back the original.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Your PDF is processed by your own browser and never sent to our servers, so it's safe for private documents.
